Artist's Statement -Art is my Life “Life, Art, Music, Film.. all these things move me to create new art. Looking at nature or listening to beautiful music are also the muses which help me to create. It is in me, if i want to or not, it must come out through the surface. I cannot and will not imagine my life without Art. Art lives around me, comforts me and draws me in towards new and more works to create. I am dreamer, I confess, but there is a reality portion of my life as well.. Regarding my Art, it comes from so many places, dreams, experiences, real life; each piece has its own path and origin from beginning to end.” Erik Kucera

Biography - Erik Kuc;era Erik Kucera is a true renaissance man who comes from the heart of Europe. Originally from Slovakia, he began his career in the art world at 21. As a trained goldsmith, Erik first started working in the metal medium with brass, silver, gold and gems. Later with a friend and role model from the world of fashion, he dabbled for a while in fashion design. Today he still works in the area of image design for women of style. As the consummate artist, he found creative outlets in poetry writing not only in his mother tongue of Slovakian, but also in Czech and German. In 1999 he found his true calling in drawing. Over the last decade Erik Kucera has made a name for himself throughout Europe. His unique style in surrealism has gained him a name as the modern Escher of the 21st Century. His distinctive style expresses the influence of age, love, environment, dreams, hopes, suffrage and moods of the artist. Through this are his works and his style so various in color as they are in meaning. Today Erik lives in West Palm Beach with his girlfriend and business partner Dawn April. Together they run the site www.modernity.us.com, which is the portal for all of Erik Kucera’s works. Erik likes to stay involved in the art in West Palm Beach as well as throughout America, always participating in Exhibitions and Competitions which help to make the community more beautiful through art and design. Giving back to people and to the community is something very important and dear to Erik. Currently Erik is showing in galleries throughout the Northeast and Southeast in America, as well as in the UK and in Central Europe. He has been involved in over 20 Exhibitions throughout the US and is currently taking part in International Juried Exhibitions in Texas, Florida, Massachusetts, New York and England. Kucera likes to also keep his fans well informed by keeping his website up to date and using internet outlets such as Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. It is imperative for Erik to stay in touch with people and he often invites fans to participate in question and answer sessions both online and live at shows. It is vital to keep in touch with all generations and to make sure that his art is something inclusive for all ages, cultures and creeds. In November Erik and Dawn will be moving to Vienna, Austria for a year long tour throughout Europe. Modernity Art will still operate out of his head quarters in Florida and www.modernity.us.com will continue to be the main site for updates and purchase of Erik’s work. After the European tour is over, Erik and Dawn will be returning to their home in Florida to start with a new American Tour.
