Biography - .............. . Contemporary artist Shanti Rose lives in the Monterey Bay area of northern California on the coast 30 miles north of Carmel. She works in acrylic and mixed media on canvas and paper and does both abstract printings and also(a limited number) of figurative works. Born in San Francisco Shanti grew up in the Silicon Valley and then attended the University Of CA. Berkeley where she studied art. Later she also attended classes at University Of CA. Santa Cruz where she studied printmaking (intaglio and monotypes) and also classes at the CA. College of Arts and Crafts (painting & drawing) as well. . Currently: Her studio is on the coast in the Monterey Bay area of northern California. From 1972-1992 she was in Santa Cruz, then she lived in Monterey (near Cannery Row and Pacific Grove) from 1992-2005 (and in 2005 re-located nearby to Watsonville). She works in mostly acrylic and/or mixed media on canvas and paper producing mostly abstract (and sometimes) also a smaller amount of figurative work. _________ Art Education: . University Of CA.
