Biography - I was born on the sunny shores of Tampa Bay with the proud fortune of being raised in a subculture of Spanish,Italian,Cuban and Mexican heritage. Always colorful,festive and loving. Music,laughter,great food and libations were in abundance like a Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers movie...only with accents! As a psychology and theatre major in Liberal Arts at the University of South Florida in Tampa, the seeds for the quest for the creative experience took root. After four years at the university I moved to Atlanta, GA., to pursue a career in theatre. In 1980 my first performing company and entertainment agency, The Creative Collective,was founded and opertative until 1993. My first professional "Art" exhibit in Atlanta,GA was funded by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs in 1983,along with the birth of my beautiful daughter Maris. My visual artistry had been validated and there was no turning back. The next decade was spent travelling around the world, expanding my art vocabulary and vision.Along with the birth of my son, Hadrian. My creative experience led me to Off Broadway,television,street theatre and anywhere I could create and hone my craft as a multimedia artist. By 1998 I was operative as curator and agent for emerging artists in fine art galleries in Atlanta,GA. Creating destinations for the arts where they had not existed became my livelyhood and focus.I can proudly say I have exhibited over 300 American and International artists works,including myself and assisted their artistic careers in a positive, respectful and honest experience.I continue to grow and seek knowledge in the development of the gifts I have been graced by God to receive...in truth...I am blessed. Fortune and fame have never been my motivating force...happiness and fulfillment feed my spirit and creative self. I will create until I cannot. |
