Biography - Pleasant is a multifaceted visual artist who mines his rich experiences as an emotionally three dimensional individual to create a body of work that is at once chilling and beautiful. Originally born in Savannah, Georgia, Pleasant grew up in a cultured environment. His father, William Pleasant, was a popular regional painter and his mother was a distinguished educator. Pleasant left Savannah in 1986 and began a fine art training odyssey that led him through Oberlin College, Pratt Institute and ultimately New York City's renowned School of Visual Arts. At SVA, he blossomed as artistic iconoclast, while at the same time assimilating the best that the modern painting movement had to offer. Although Pleasant was also accepted into the Rhode Island School of Design. Pleasant decided to remain in the cosmopolitan environment of New York City. There Pleasant personally studied under tutelage's of Michael Goldberg, The late Bob Stanley, Martha Diamond and Brooklyn Museum's Dr. Barbara Gallati, Ph.D. among other leading visual artists and Scholars. Along with their profound influences. Pleasant has endeavored to discover and cultivate his own unique voice. Today, convinced that he has accumulated a number of works that at least stand as the preamble of his artistic manifesto. Pleasant is bound to return to a creative environment. With the continued desire to reveal and express his art and to contribute creatively. The analysis and self-expression of life, is to be reflected in this unique type of Modern art. Pleasant currently resides in the European Union and New York City.
