Mediums - oil, acrylic

Artist's Statement -The originality of Geudevert's 'seeping technique', leads to a richness in and consistency in his acrylics which defy explanation. Imbibed in the composition, the unified colors form an integral element in the overall clarity of his works. Particularly suited for fire and water, Claude Geudevert leaves an impression unlike any other contemporary artist.

Biography - Claude Geudevert, Belgian artist who has found an admiring public after over a quarter century of painting, can be described as anything but usual. At 25, he was president of the youth group dedicated to culture in the city of Charleroi, where his first passion was poetry and theater. An ardent Walloon, his writing in his own dialect lead to an appreciation of the cultural differences now reflected in his painting. A proud student of Julien Tondriau, anthropologist and philosopher of some renown, his influence was to deeply mark the spirit of the young visual artist. The amalgamation of this heritage and his extensive voyages in foreign lands, has led to a cultural sensitivity in Claude Geudevert's paintings that is rarely encountered by a solely regional artist.
