Biography - Ron Anderegg was born in Portland, Oregon. He began his artistic training at the Portland Art Museum when he was eight years old. After high school, he relocated to Los Angeles to attend the Chouinard Art Institute (now called CalArts) where he received a strong classic education in drawing and design. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising design. His contemporaries at Choinard included Ed Ruscha, Joe Goode, Jerry McMillian, Larry Bell, Don Bachardy, and Bob Mackie.
Ron joined Walt Disney Studios (WED) as an assistant art director in the graphic design department. The original Disneyland was one of his inital projects, designing collateral materials such as posters, shop signs and restaurant menus. Another prime assignment was working with the design team conceptualizing projects for the 1963 New York World's Fair.
In 1963, the mandatory draft summoned Ron into the U.S. Army. There he served as designer/illustrator with the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington D.C.
One of his display designs for President John Kennedy is now in the JFK Library in Boston, MA.
After military service, Ron returned to Los Angeles and joined RMB Advertising Agency as an art director. He handled the Max Factor account over the next 10 years. That was followed by 10 more years as a freelance artist/designer, working with Max Factor and others. His "piece de resistance" for Max Factor was designing its museum in Hollywood.
In 1986, Ron abandon commercial art to seriously follow the "true song of his soul" - fine art. He is know directing all of his considerable talent and energy in the pursuit of his artistic dream.
