Danny Davini http://www.daviniart.com Mediums - acrylic - mixed Artist's Statement -I desire my work to be compelling, full of movement and energy, employing different techniques and styles. I want to use textures and colors to evoke responses as opposed to subject matter. I believe anything painted in a unique and creative way, be it a still life, portrait, landscape or abstract, can stir emotions and bring joy to the viewer. This gives me the freedom to create a painting from a picture I see, a beautiful sunset, or from the shapes that pop into my imagination. I am constantly thinking of new ideas for ways to create my art, and hope to one day have the time and resources to pursue them all. Biography - Self taught. I painted murals for 3 years before putting my works on canvas. I also created about 70 digital paintings, which inspired me to paint on canvas. I study the works of my favorite artists and read many art books to get inspiration and ideas. I tend to paint fast and mix my colors as I go. Texture, lines, and certain blends are made with everything from sticks to sandpaper. I will scrape and area with a razor blade, use steel wool, spray with a garden hose, whatever it takes to get the results I am looking for. |
